The North Coast Courier (established 1985) is a free weekly community newspaper published by Wordsmiths (Pty) Ltd, serving the fast-growing Dolphin Coast region north of Durban. Distribution of 40 000 copies a week, averaging 36 pages. Based in the holiday town of Ballito, the Courier is the medium of choice for retail, classified and legal advertising throughout the Ilembe district municipal region. There are regular supplements on education, motoring, agriculture, health, home improvements etc. and a variety of advertorial packages for business promotions. Wordsmiths (Pty) Ltd became a joint venture with Caxton Printing and Publishing in 2006.
